Bright made its debut on Netflix December 22, during its opening weekend the sci-fi flick brought in 11 million viewers according to Nielsen. Although the high profile Will Smith film did bring in big numbers, many people were not happy and Chance the Rapper criticized the film over race relations.

"I found the way they tried to illustrate Americas racism through the mythical creatures to be a little shallow," Chano tweeted. "I always feel a lil cheated when I see allegorical racism in movies cause that racism usually stems from human emotion or tolerance but not by law or systems the way it is in real life. The characters in #Bright live in a timeline where racism is gone... cause we hate ork now."

Reports show that the average crowd of 3.9 million viewers were ages 18-34 and 7 million in 18-49. The gender split was 56% male.
